Guest Services

Accessibility
The Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. There are handicap accessible parking spaces located on each level of the public parking garage.  Patrons using wheelchairs can enter and exit the building through both the North and East Lobbies.  There is an elevator located directly across from the box office for convenient access to the arena entrance.  All ADA accessible seating is located on the second floor of the arena.

Banners and Signs
No type of banner and/or sign may be brought into the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center, unless authorized by arena management.  Guests must return any unauthorized banner and/or sign to their vehicle.

Cameras/Recording
The use of cameras, video or audio recording devices may be prohibited for some shows or events at the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center.  The use of such devices will be determined on a show-by-show basis by the promoter, artist and arena management.

Cameras are permitted in the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center for all NSU Athletic Events. For the safety of the athletes and participants please do not use a flash.

Diaper Changing Stations
The Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center offers diaper changing stations in all men’s, women’s and family restrooms.

First Aid Services
The Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center will provide emergency medical staffing for events through the Town of Davie Fire and Rescue Department.  UC Arena management will determine staffing levels.  Please contact the UC Arena Event Manager for more information.

Food and Beverage
Outside food and beverage is not permitted in the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center.  We offer a variety of food and beverage items through our concessionaire, CHARTWELLS, including hot dogs, pizza, nachos, chips, popcorn, soft pretzels, candy and beverages. 

Guest Attire
In order to uphold our status as a first-class entertainment facility and the standards of Nova Southeastern University, proper attire, including shirt and shoes is required of all guests attending events at the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center or entering the facility to purchase or pick up tickets.  The Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone it deems dressed inappropriately.

Guest Drop Off Area
Guests with disabilities may be dropped off in front of the East Lobby located off of College Avenue at the end of Mary McCahill Drive at Shark Circle.  This is a drop off area only; all guests must still park in the public garage.

Guest Services Location
The Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center Guest Services is located in the East Lobby on the ground floor near the box office.  At Guest Services you will find lost and found and special needs information. 

Lost and Found
Lost items may be claimed from Arena Management office located on the first floor during the event.  After every event in the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center, all lost and found is handed over to the Nova Southeastern University Public Safety Department.  They can be reached at (954) 262-8999.

Parking
All Arena guests are directed to park in the public parking garage located across from the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at 3100 Ray Ferrero, Jr. Blvd.  Every motor vehicle parked on University property must maintain a valid paid permit or "pay to park" using PayByPhone or pay at multi-space meters located near the elevator in the southeast corner of the garage. 

The parking cost for some ticketed events are included in the price of your ticket but only includes parking in the public parking garage.  Parking in a surface lot or different parking garage will incur additional fees.  Please contact us for event-specific informaton. 

The Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center is located 200 yards south of the public parking garage.  There are handicap accessible parking spaces located on each level of the garage near the elevator.

Re-Entry Policy
Re-entry for ticketed event is event specific.

  • Pets/Animals (see below for Service Animals)

  • Large Bags (Event-specific)
  • Laser Products
  • Strollers - Event specific
  • Cameras or Recording Devices (Event-specific)
  • Helium balloons
  • Lighters

All Bathrooms are handicap accessible

Search
Anyone entering the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center may be subject to a physical search and/or metal detection.

Service Animals
Per Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center policy, only a service animal is allowed in the building. A service animal, under the Americans with Disabilities Act, is a dog or miniature horse trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, inlcuding a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. The handler is responsible for the care and supervision of their service animal at all times. If the animal is deemed disruptive at any time the handler and animal may be escorted from the venue at the discretion of security personnel. Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are not considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and therefor will not be allowed into the building.

Smoking Policy
The entire campus is smoke-free.  This policy is strictly enforced in all areas of the building including dressing rooms and production areas.

Ticketing Policy
All guests entering through our gates must present a valid ticket as a means of admission to the designated event.  Children age 2 and older may be required to have a ticket.  Children under the age of two must sit on the parent or guardian’s lap.  Policies regarding the purchase of a child’s ticket may differ for most family shows.  Please feel free to contact us to check on the age requirement when purchasing tickets for children.  Ticket scalping on the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center or Nova Southeastern University Property is strictly prohibited.
